11th Annual Thresheree

Another successful Richfield Historical Society Thresheree took place at the Richfield Historical Park under sunny skies and pleasant temperatures on September 19 and 20, 2009. The visitors enjoyed a day of steam-driven threshing and log sawing, horse plowing, antique cars and tractors, engine exhibits, displays of skills from long ago, weaving and quilting demonstrations, good food, and great music. Abe Lincoln and Mark Twain entertained enthusiastic audiences. The winners of the Pie Contest were proud and those who ate those delicious pies were thrilled. Tours of the Messer/Mayer Mill and Mill House brought history back to life. The completed reconstructed Motz log cabin and Messer log barn were dedicated to the delight of family members. See photography below.
