Luminary Walk - November 1, 2025
The Richfield Historical/Nature Park was abuzz with activities for
the 4th annual Luminary Walk. Two trails, a .61 mile one and a 1.2 mile one,
were illuminated for those who wanted to venture out on a night hike.
Visitors gathered around four bonfires -- two by the Pioneer Homestead
and two near the Nature Park pavillion. Carved jack-o-lanterns
greeted you throughout the grounds. Strands of lights shimmered over the Coney Creek as you walked the trail.
Those who visited the Motz Log Cabin were treated to free popcorn; free maple cotton candy was available to visitors to the Messer Log Barn. Hot chocolate, hot apple cider and hot dogs could be purchased as well as a glowstick to light up the night. An apple donated by Rim's Edge Orchard was a nice snack at the food pavillion. It was a good time and pleasant fall weather to enjoy the Park at night as well as catch up on the news from friends or relatives. Many families found this to be a fun, free activity with their leashed pet and the toddler in the stroller or wagon.

"A wonderful event! Great job volunteers!"
"You guys did a great job last night, from lining the trail with tea lights, to the lit carved pumpkins, to the roaring bonfires, to the helpful workers to the ‘crossing guards’ and parking people.
What a brilliant idea. I also loved the lights near the river with the ‘floating’ candles and the wall of lights..nice touch! Apples were amazing too. Thanks Rims Edge.
I am so proud of our Richfield Historical Society. Bravo!
Can we work on a 'winter' hike next?"
